Volunteering – was making time to volunteer one of your New Year’s Resolutions? Would you like to get involved in something both interesting and rewarding but see yourself as ‘time poor’? Well, becoming a Member of Ash-worth Time Bank might just be the answer. You can give your time as and when you can – and it really doesn’t matter if this is an hour a week, or once every few months.
How else could you help your local Time Bank?
We now have a new and enterprising Fundraising Team of volunteers who have raised more than £2,200 in just six months. Raffle tickets are now on sale for our Grand Spring Raffle which will be drawn on Monday, 24th April, 2017. If you could help to sell a few tickets to family and friends, please get in touch. Tickets are £1 each and will be available in books of 5. If you’d like to join the team to help to raise much needed funds or have ideas you think could help with fundraising, we’d be really happy to hear from you.
Indoor Games Afternoon
We aim to provide opportunities for residents in our community to get together at social events and already have a variety of activity and social groups that run on a regular basis. You are invited to come along to Ashton & Mouldsworth Village Hall on Monday, 24th April 2.00-4.00pm where we will have a variety of indoor games to play and tea, coffee and home-made cakes to enjoy. Please let us know if you would like to come along. There is no charge for this event. Donations for refreshments welcome. If you have any games from your own childhood that you could lend us for this event, either games that can still be played or items to put on display, please contact us.
Our ‘Library Sessions’ are a new addition to the range of social activities on offer, and these are proving very popular. They take place weekly, on Wednesday mornings from 10-12 in the Parish Rooms, Ashton Hayes. And if you think they are just about exchanging books, you’re very mistaken! Why not come along and try out some creative crafts with Gillian Forgrave, challenge the ‘Domino Dynamos’ to a game or two, or just enjoy tea, cake and a convivial chat – while you find out what else the Time Bank has to offer? Also, we now have Internet access in the Parish Rooms so if you need to research something online, or would like help with a problem, why not call in and draw on the expertise of our Volunteer Coordinator, Caroline Massos?
